Westbound I-10 closed south of Phoenix area

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — Westbound Interstate 10 is closed on the Phoenix area’s southern outskirts because of an accident.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says the closure of I-10 westbound is at Queen Creek Road.

ADOT says drivers should expect long delays and consider getting off westbound I-10 before the closure. Exits to do that include Riggs Road and State Route 587.

According to ADOT, there is no estimated time to reopen westbound lanes.

Eastbound I-10 remains open.
