A 24-year-old Baton Rouge man was killed early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash when a pickup truck rolled over on Interstate 10 west near Siegen Lane, a State Police spokesman said.
Brandon Ezell, 24, of Baton Rouge, a backseat passenger was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected during the crash, Trooper Russell Graham said in a news release.
Ezell was pronounced dead by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office.
Jonathan Tillman, 38, of Plaquemine, was driving a 2011 Dodge pickup truck west on I-10 about 3 a.m. when the truck ran off the road to the right, Graham said.
The truck struck an embankment and overturned several times, Graham said.
Tillman and the front seat passenger, Anquenett Taplin, 42, of Baton Rouge, were both wearing seatbelts and sustained minor injuries, Graham said.
A third passenger in the vehicle, Everett Moncrieffe, 36, of Baton Rouge, fled the scene after the crash, Graham said.
Troopers are still looking for Moncrieffe, 4212 Hollywood St., whom they have identified as the truck’s owner, Graham said.
Tillman submitted to a breath test after his release from a hospital, Graham said. The sample showed he had alcohol in his system, but his blood alcohol content level was below the
