One killed after wrong-way crash on I-10

EL PASO, Texas – Authorities are investigating a deadly accident on Interstate 10 near Vinton that may have involved a wrong-way driver, officials said.

A spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said two people were killed in the accident, which was reported around 8:45 p.m. Monday.

Officials said a caller reported a wrong-way driver in the area, which soon turned into a head-on collision.

The victim who was in a red car died at the scene, and the wrong-way driver died shortly after, officials said.

Traffic on I-10 east is closed off as authorities investigate, and it is expected to be closed for several hours.
