The FBI says two young girls kidnapped by a Mississippi man last week are in extreme danger. Adam Mayes is now on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List. There is a $175,000 reward for his capture.
An affidavit reveals that Teresa watched her husband kill Jo Ann Bain in a garage adjacent to her home in Whiteville, Tennessee. She also told investigators Mayes killed 14-year-old Adrienne there.
The wife admits to driving the vehicle with the bodies inside it to Alpine, MS.
The mother and daughter were found buried in a backyard. Adam Mayes’ plan was to kidnap the two younger girls. The FBI held a news conference Wednesday in Guntown, MS and sent a message to the children and their accused abductor.
“To the girls, first of all I want you to know that we are spending all day and night 24 hours a day to bring you back home to Tennessee,” said Aaron Ford, Special Agent in Memphis. “We will use every resource available from the federal, state and local authorities to accomplish that mission. And to Adam Mayes, I would urge you, if you are listening, to number one, turn those girls in to a safe location.”
Adam Mayes’ face is all over FBI billboards across the south, like these on Interstate 55 North in Jackson.
