INDIO: I-10 crash kills Harley rider – Press

accident iconAlcohol is believed to have played a role in the fatal crash of a 44-year-old Indio motorcyclist who lost control of his 1998 Harley Davidson on a freeway offramp in that city, say California Highway Patrol investigators.

Mark Wauben died at the scene of the 11:17 p.m. wreck Friday, Jan. 10, on the Monroe Avenue off-ramp from the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10.

“The Harley Davidson traveled … off the roadway and into the dirt shoulder,” Officer Mike Radford said in a written statement. “The rider was ejected approximately 50 feet.

“Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.”
