Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that at least one person died in a Thursday wreck involving a red passenger vehicle and two darker cars on Interstate 10.

The crashes occurred less than a mile west of the 146 mile markerĀ on I-10 in Jackson County.

Several people with injuries were taken to area medical facilities, including Jackson Hospital and Tallahassee Memorial.

The crashes occurred in the westbound lanes of I-10, with westbound traffic backed up at times past the Grand Ridge 152 mile marker as law enforcement and emergency workers dealt with the situation.

A few hours later, law enforcement officers were summoned to two more wrecks in the vicinity. No further details on any of the incidents were immediately available.
